Keep on Watching

Hello again!! I am still awaiting the first arrival of hummingbirds! The feeders are hung on the hangers that my dad made years ago when they retired in Dover, Arkansas. I finally had to buy new feeders last summer because the ones my dad used had begun to show wear from the elements. He had them hanging from his sun room too. I love the ritual of getting the feeders out for the first time, making the syrup and then hanging them with anticipation. They make the sweetest sound a high pitched call and a loud buzz from their incredible wings!!

Here in Oklahoma we had an extremely windy day yesterday. It was strong wind, gusts to 45 miles an hour and then rain, hail and severe weather last night!!! We also might have snow flurries this weekend!!! When I heard that I said to myself "only in Oklahoma!!" I really wanted to plant flower's but I am glad I haven't yet with the temperature going into the 30's soon. There will be time enough for that!!

I am a Realtor & as I was driving papers out to a buyer to be signed this morning I noticed the abundant beauty of spring plants now in bloom! The beautiful redbud trees are in bloom, they are nearly the first to flower in spring the first are the bradford pears, there are yellow forsythia, white/pink crab apple, lovely wisteria, Iris, daffodil & tulips the list goes on & on!! The stark bare trees are beginning to put on leaves now. It is just a beautiful time of year. If our planet that has been ravaged by sin can remain this beautiful, I can't wait to see the new heavens and the new earth. I also can't wait to see heaven. It's almost more than I can put into words or really think about.

As we are watching the beauty of spring and waiting for the hummingbirds to return it also reminds me that we need to be watching and waiting for the Lords return. Only His children can have real peace and joy in their hearts when our country and world are in such a desperate place. We know that we are His and nothing can separate us from His love and protection. So go on, enjoy the beauty of spring and continue to watch and wait for Him. His peace sets us free to enjoy His creation, enjoy our lives that He has given us, no matter what might be going on around us. I know that this peace & joy that only comes from Him will open doors to share with others about our faith and why we are different (different in a good way!!:). As He gives us opportunity to share let's step out and take advantage of that time. Come quickly Lord Jesus!!We are truly blessed!!

How well He knows us!!

This is how He knows us - Isaiah 49:15 & 16 "Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me" What a lovely picture this paints of His love and care in our lives.

We live in Choctaw Oklahoma. I love to feed the birds and every year look forward to the return of the hummingbirds. They should be arriving in the next few days!! Almost every year one or more will get so excited about the feeders that they will fly into one of our sun room windows and get knocked out. On many occasions I have had the pleasure of holding one of these sweet little jewels in my hand while they gain their composure. I love to talk softly to them and look at all the beautiful detail that the Lord Himself gave to them at creation. I study their glistening eyes. The variance of their colors. I truly love the opportunity to hold these tiny little creatures.I am sure you haven't already gathered that!!

In this same way I picture the Lord looking at me and studying my every detail & still He loves me!!!! He studies the wild natural curly hair, the lines that have begun to creep across my 50+ face, the heart that loves Him & waits for His return. He also sees and knows my every short coming and is quick to forgive. Words fail me, I can't even begin to imagine that. Can you? What a wonderful God we serve!!!

He Continues to Carry Me

I know that it has been a long time between blog postings. Our family has been enduring a deep heartache since mid January. I haven't known what to say. One thing I do know is He is faithful!!! I have pictured myself under the shadow of His wings held in His embrace.

I have also prayed Deuteronomy 30:6 "And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live". Many years ago when I was a very new Christian the Lord gave me a sweet promise that all of my family would come to know Him. He has been so good to fulfill His promises in my life. I will trust Him for this one as well.

I will continue to purpose in my heart to serve Him & know that He has our very best at heart in all the He allows in our lives. What a tremendous comfort that is to me. It makes my heart sing!!!

I will close with this...Psalm 90:14 "Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days!". The Lord bless you all and hold you close today!!
